Olivia (Xinru) Yu completed her Bachelor of Biomedicine degree at the University of Melbourne in 2022. Currently, she is pursuing her Honours degree under the supervision of A/Prof Laura Downie and Dr Holly Chinnery in the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences, the University of Melbourne. Her research is focused on corneal immune cells and corneal nerve alterations in patients living with HIV. Utilising clinical assessments and advanced imaging techniques, including Functional In Vivo Confocal Microscopy (Fun-IVCM), her work aims to define the features of corneal neuroimmune interaction in HIV patients. Her research aims to advance understanding of the ocular immune profile in systemic immunodeficiency.
